FAQs

What can I do to help?

If you’d like to help with our Saturday night event, we will need help with the set-up and clean-up.  Please send us a note via the contact form and let us know how you think you can help.

In order to keep our costs down for individual classmates, we encourage sponsors (either individual or business sponsorships are accepted) to donate toward the cost of the event.  Our sponsors will be acknowledged on our website and will be announced at the Saturday night event.  Contact us to help sponsor our event.

What does it cost to put on a reunion party?

You’d be surprised at how much it costs to put on one of these events.  The barn is WAY less expensive than renting a hotel room. We are lucky to have use of this place. The bulk of our costs are for the Saturday night event.  In addition to paying caterers and beverage service, we rent tables, chairs, porta-potties, dumpsters. We buy event insurance, cleaning supplies, decorations, additional food, ice and lots of other stuff.  We play a guessing game throughout the year to try to determine our costs against income.  If we don’t look like we’re going to break even, then we cry for more sponsors.  If we’re looking good, we step up the game and buy more food.  Our goal is to break even – we are not in this to make money.

What is the address of the barn?

The barn is located on private property in the city of Encinitas.   The Saturday night event is for alumni with reservations and their paid guests only.  We will provide the address of the barn prior to the event to all who have purchased a ticket

What is the San Dieguito Alumni Association?

The San Dieguito Alumni Association works to preserve the history, traditions, and memorabilia of San Dieguito High School and San Dieguito High School Academy as it is now known.  In addition to collecting documents and memorabilia the Association assists prior graduating classes with planning of reunions, honoring notable alumni, supporting the Mustang Legacy Project and publishing a newsletter.  The class of 1974 shares contact information with the Alumni Association.  If you don’t want us to share that information, you may opt out by letting us know.
